Why is it a top 10 book of 2015?

#LoversGonnaLove and hashtaggers couldn’t have been more happy with the level of love in this finale. #Heart is one of 2 series finales that made my list this year. In the last year of hashtag releases, these characters have become family and Cambria could not crafted a more beautiful close to their stories.

Lovers Gonna Love…
Family isn’t always defined by blood.
Sometimes family is born of love…
And choice.
Sometimes the bond that comes from someone having your back through the shittiest of times is stronger than anything you get from genetics.
And sometimes you find that piece of your soul you didn’t even know was missing.
I’m a lucky guy like that.
I found a love that will never fade. I found a group of people who aren’t just my friends.
They’ve become my family.
There’s only one place to go from here.
I’m gonna bind myself to Rimmel in every possible way.
I’m gonna bring our family even closer together.
The past has taught me it won’t be easy.
Especially when faced with repercussions from a night that ended in death.
But that’s okay.
Family doesn’t quit each other.
Love like ours never dies.
Happily ever after isn’t just for storybooks.

I have a special spot in my heart for Cambria’s writing. I am a fairly new bookie. I discovered ebooks a couple years ago and became obsessed with reading. One of the first books that hooked me was Cambria’s Masquerade and I’ve been devouring her work ever since. I have her entire library completed and anxiously await more.

Naturally when #Nerd (the first hashtag book) released, it was a no brainer to pick up. It was something a little bit different from Cambria though. It was not a paranormal or fantasy base. It was not another very sexy take it off series book. It was a new spin on the new adult coming of age story with an awesome alpha male and a quirky nerd. What could have been just another hottie falls for the nerd and they fall happily ever after evolved into an amazing series that deals with peer pressure even in college, bullying, stalking, sexual assault, the growth and death of friendships, and so much more. It became a series where the characters became our family and we held their hands through every hardship. We cried with the hashtag crew and we laughed with them and we loved with them.

Rimmel, Romeo, Ivy and Braeden have become nearly iconic characters. Cambria’s fan base now proudly dubs themselves the #Nerds. Readers religiously wear their Alpha U and Knights gear. Everyone knows #Nerd is the new sexy because after all Romeo said so.

So how does an author go about wrapping up a series where her readers are so hardcore for the characters? Well I can’t answer to how exactly Cambria went about it but I can say she made magic. #Heart is not a firm ending. We may always see these beloved characters pop up in spin offs or shorts. But Cambria wrapped up both couples main story lines in a beautiful way. You walk away knowing everyone is at a great place but there’s plenty of room to keep daydreaming about the group’s futures.

At it’s core, Hashtag has always been about love and friendship conquering all. It’s not a miracle cure but with those things strong in your circle, anything can get better. What better way to honor that theme than with #Heart?

#Heart provided another rollercoaster of emotion. Both couples have many obstacles to overcome but also have so many gorgeous moments where love shines through. I don’t like to spoil storylines as you all know but #Heart is going to give you everything you wanted. There is POV from all 4 main leads vs only seeing one couple per book. You get a very heavy dose of your favorite bromance. And you see Rimmel and Ivy cement their bonds as not only best friends but sisters. There was still issues to work through keeping true to the realism of the hashtag plot line but the reader does get a happy ever after.

If you haven’t read the hashtag series, you must. It’s not even an option. You will not regret diving into the Alpha U world and getting to know Rimmel, Romeo, Ivy and Braeden. Just remember not to give any gossip to the #BuzzBoss!
